Mr. Demetrius Anton Burge Sr.

July 27, 1982 - September 29, 2017

On July 27, 1982, Mr. Demetrius Anton Burge Sr. was born to Rose Mary Burge and the late Albert Phillip in Meridian, Ms. Demetrius was known as "Bone" and "Ton" to family and friends. Demetrius departed his life on Friday, September 29, 2017. He excepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at New Jerusalem M.B. Church where he served on the Usher board, and was in the choir. Demetrius leaves his loving memories to his motherand step-father, Rose and Charles Griffin, fiancee, Clarissa Robinson, five children: Amiyah Burge, Amarian Burge, Jasmine Burge, Kiera Burge, Demetrius Burge Jr; and the Mother of his Three oldest children Christina Ortega, and Three other children who he loved unconditionally as his own Dearrion Ruffin, Khien Ruffin, and Khiry Ruffin; Four sisters: Latricia Burge, Ketwanya Burge and Terra Walker of Meridian, MS and Terri Phillips of Memphis, TN ; Two brothers: Demarco Burge and Albert Phillip of Meridian, MS ; One niece: Patricia Phillips; Ten Nephews: Dalvin Burge, Ketwan'Tavius Dean, Demarco Burge Jr., Jacob Burge, Jaylen Smith, Albert Phillips Jr., Akari Phillips, Brandon Walker, Dion Kendricks , and Zabion Kendricks. Seven Aunts: Ruby Gordon Rush, Patricia Newell, Torie Granger, Latrice Chaney and Betty Easley all of Meridian, MS., Anita Harris and Tenia Chaney Hill all of Tupelo, MS ,; Six uncles: John Lewis, Billy Lewis and Barry Burge , all of Meridian, MS, James Lewis of Racine, WI, Casey Burge of Alpharetta, GA, and Demetri Chaney of Tupelo, MS and a host of cousin. He is preceded in death by his Father the late Albert Phillips, Grandparents the late Juanita and Bennie C. Chaney, and the late K.C. Burge, and one aunt Ruth Yarbrough. Demetrius will be missed by everyone that knew him, the way he walked, the way he talked and the way he picked at everyone. Rest on Bone, we love you and we miss you!
