PeeeEdward Lee Davis was born on September 18, 1929 in Nellieburh, Ms to Otto Davis and Mable Davis. On Wednesday, January 20, 2016 while at Rush Hospital, God called his faithful servant to eternal peace, free to join his parents, aunts and loved ones who proceeded him in death. Edward attended Wechsler Jr. High School in Meridian, MS and graduated from Harris High School. As his profession, he was an experienced caterer. He was worked as a professional bartender. He was worked for Mac Abraham Catering Services.He has worked for the Dixie Clay Col. He has also worked for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company and he retired from the Coca-Cola company. Edward served in the United Sates Army from January 11, 1951 to 1953. Edward was a faithful church worker. He served on many committees in church and was a faithful worker in supporting his pastor and his church. He was in he church choir and male chorus. Edward loved singing. He was one of the founders of the Traveling Quarter Singers. They traveled and sung in many states. They recorded two records. The group performed and sung for 60 years. Edward confessed hope in Christ at Pilgrim Rest Methodist Church at an early age. Preceded him in death was: his father, Otto Davis; his mother, Mable Davis; his two brothers, Willie Otto (Bill) Davis, Sr. And Tommy Lee Davis; two sisters, Lillian Scott and Jean Flemings; four aunts, Florence Davis, Julia Whitlock, Anna Davis and Letha Hammon; four God sons, Emmit Jones, Jr., Michael Jones, Brian Jones and Rev. Carl Jackson; and a son-in-law, Leroy Alford. Edward leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 62 years, Vallonia Stennis Davis; a daughter, Vanessa Davis Alford; a great-grandson that was raised as a son, De’Untee Lee (Pap); a great-great granddaughters, Taylor Lee; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one God son, Rev. Frank June; 4 God daughters, Debbie Ewing, Laura Jones Davis, Vanessa Rhoney (Williams), Paulette Jackson; a niece more like a daughter, Debra (David) Jackson; a cousins more like a sisters, Shirley Gammage; a cousin more like a brother, George Lee Davis, Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Rosie Davis.
