On November 23, 1953 a beautiful baby girl was born to the late Frank and Betty Pollard, whom they named Frances Pollard. She was the fourth of nine children born to this union. Frances was united with New Hope Blackwater Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Middleton Attendance Center from the 1st through the 9th grade. After the family relocated to Meridian, she began her 10th grade year at Harris High School and would go on to graduate from Meridian High School. After graduating from Meridian High School, she went to Meridian Community College where she received her Associates Degree. She then moved on to MS State University where she received her Master’s Degree in Social Work. As a social worker, Frances made many friendships. She dealt with many types of people, some with illnesses, wether mental or physical. After retiring, Frances opened up a group home for many with different disabilities. She had a passion for people and would help not just her family, but others as well. Frances was a people person. She loved her family, friends, and relatives. She would do almost anything to help people. Frances was a faithful member at New Life Independent Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Paul Clayton. She was preceded in death by: her daughter: Shonda Pollard; mother, Betty Spinks Pollard’ father, Frank Pollard Sr.; sisters: Martha Boden, Gladys Brown, Sadie Farley and Dorothy Wooten; brother, Curtis Pollard; uncles: Hervy Spinks, Tom Spinks and Malcolm (Joe) Spinks; and aunts: Geneva Hill and Gussie Clayton She leaves to cherish her: loving sons: La’Ellis Crowther and Justin Cullors; a special friend: Jimmy Miller; two sisters: Beatrice Moton and Shernia Pollard; one brother: Frank (Toni) Pollard; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
