Mr. Fred Dempsy Key

October 10, 1943 - April 27, 2016

On April 27, 2016, Fred Dempsy Key gave up his earthly journey and answered the Lord's call for eternal rest as he joined his Father Rogers Key, Mother Katherine Mesley Key, Sister Mary Lou Quince, Brothers, James Lester Key and Roger Karl Key among the heavenly host. Fred who was called "Demp" by his family and 'Shortie" by his close friends grew up in the Pleasant Gove Community and joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Harris High School and graduated from Nichols High School. Biloxi Mississippi. After high School, he entered the United States Army and served 4 years. Upon leaving the Army he returned to Biloxi where he met his wife Ella Walker who preceded him in death. Demp lived in Biloxi until Hurricane Katrina. He was an outgoing happy person who loved people and greeted everyone with a smile. He loved life and enjoyed life. During his late years of life he enjoyed playing dominoes and checkers. Demp leaves to cherish his memories Two Sisters; Margie Key Hunter, Edna Key Croutch; Two Brothers; Alfred Key, and Tommy Ray Key and a host of nieces and nephews who loved Uncle Demp.
