Mr. Al'Darius "Duke" Hopson's Obituary
Duke was born October 22, 1992, to the late Brenda Hopson and Allan Dyess. Duke was a 2012 graduate of the Quitman School District. He was an avid football player, wearing #25 from Pee-Wee Football until his Senior year. Duke was full of laughter and mischief. Everyone knew him as a caring and carefree young man. After the death of his grandfather, Thomas Hopson, Duke became the "man of the house". Duke took care of the hard work around the house. He took care of the yard, cows, and horses. His Paw-Paw taught him how to drive trucks and how to operate heavy machinery. Duke started his own trucking company with his brother, Dan'Tavis, aka "Skeeter", known as "Hopson Trucking". Duke departed this life, August 10, 2021, at H.C. Watkins Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Hopson; Brother: Michael "Bossy" Hopson; Grandfather: Willie Thomas Hopson. He leaves to cherish his memories: Father, Allan Dyess; two sisters: Karichshia "Tweety-bird" Hopson and Aylesia "Lisa" Dubose; three brothers: Delandrias "Alex" (Chrystine) Cosby, Dan'Tavis "Skeeter" Hall, and De'Rikus "Rikus" Hall. Grandparents: Annie Ruth Hopson, Jacqueline (James) Pierce, and William "Tubby" (Renee) Dyess. Aunts and Uncles: Lois Holmes, Geraldine Hopson Gordon; Shelia (Jerald) Keeler, Latena (Reginald) Harris, Shantell Hopson, Barbara Dyess Ivy, Daniell Atterberry-Griffin, Wayne Watkins, Gregory Atterberry, Earlie (Monique) Davis, Tony Jones, Evelyn Laird and Burnia Strickland. Nieces: Brenlee C. Hopson and Briyonna Dear; Nephews: Brytyavis Dear and Brendon Hall. A special cousin: Michael Smith. Great-Aunts and Great Uncles; a host of cousins and friends.
