Mr. Albert L. Tamayo's Obituary
Albert Lee Tamayo was called home on May 24, 2024 at the age of 88. Albert was born in Meridian, MS on February 15, 1936 to Simon Sanchez and Viola Tamayo. He was proceeded in death by Susie Houston, Tomas Tamayo, Minnie Pearl Jones, Louise Bryant, Joe Tamayo, Will A Tamayo and Willie Mae Tamayo. He's also proceeded by hts children, Joseph Lamon Tamayo, Andrew Tamayo and Emma Lois Carr. Albert attended Weschler and TJ High School. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country in the Army. He was apart of Company D. 58th Infantry Division and served in Germany. After which he was employed with Rush Hospital Masonite Roofing Company and a maintenance man for all Dixie Convenience stores. After several years, he became self-employed Albert was one phone call away when anyone was in need of a reliable handy man. No job was too big or too small for his tool belt. He kept his hands busy from plumbing, to drywall and recreating bicycle from recycled parts. He loved repurposing and being creative. Several times he made power pots out out of used tires and once a toliet in the front yard He was the "Fred Sanford" of Red Line. He was a faithful member at Fresh Anointing House of Worship. He loved his church family and maintained the property .. Albert loved all holidays and celebrated them with his kids. He lives to cherish 9 children, 5 sons and 4 daughters: Paul Tamayo Andrews, Terrance Tamayo, Danny Tamayo, Jerrel Tamayo, Sanchez Thomas, Tanya Tamayo-Clark, Uricka Tamayo, Leverne Tamayo and Linda Matthews.. He also leaves a legacy through his 29 grandchildren, 17 Great grandchildren, 4 Great Great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
