Mrs. Alice Faye McGee's Obituary
Alice Faye McGee was born on December 17, 1956 in Meridian, MS to the Katie Ruth Dear and Harry T. Dear. Alice was raised in Quitman, MS, where she attended Quitman Schools and received her diploma. Soon after graduation, she started working at Dejsean's (Dukes) Cafe. She later became employed at Bumper's in Quitman, MS in 1989, where she was a devoted and darn good cook for over 35 years. Patrons of Bumpers would look for "Faye" (as she was fondly called) when dining at Bumpers to make sure their food was co:Oked right. She was loved by many that ate at Bumpers even if they never spoke to her, they looked for her to be there.
Alice devoted her life to Christ at an early age as a member of Pearlie Grave Baptist Church of Quitman, MS. Alice Faye was one of a kind. She was a proud mother and grandmother. She was very active in life up until she became sick in 2019. Even then, she was always someone you could count on.
Alice leaves to cherish her memories with a beautiful daughter, Tina (Roderick B.) Dear; and a handsome son, Lonnie McGee, both of Quitman, MS; her better half: Clifton Hughes of Chicago, IL; three sisters, Rosie Dear, Barbara McCree and Debra Dear, all of Quitman, MS; two brothers: David (Maxine) Dear of Shubuta, MS; and Daryl (Celia) Dear of Paulding, MS; four special grandchildren: Marcrylluise (Roo) Pearson, Akylin (AK) Dear, Kemarion McGee and Taylor Moss, all of Quitman, MS; and five amazing great-grandkids; Aydan Pearson, M’Kinsley Pearson and Ariah Pearson, all of Quitman, MS; Marquarius Pearson of Atlanta, GA and Jamari Pearson of Gulfport, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews and two special friends: Juanita Davis and Michelle Davis of Quitman, MS.
Alice is preceeded in death by her mother; Katie Rut\iDear, father; Harry T. Dear, two sisters; Nancy B. Moore and Joyce A. Marshall. Two uncles; Joseph Bryant and Johnny Lee Bryant (Big Dude). Three nephews; Anthony McCree, Randy Dear and Terrance Dear. A great-niece; Tavyanna Moore and a great nephew; Bruce Dear.
