Mrs. Alice Ruby Brazile Smith's Obituary
To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born and a time to die .... Ecclesiastes 3:1,2a December 23, 1923, a baby girl was born to Mr. Steve Brazile and Mrs. Annis Hendricks Brazile in Toomsuba, Mississippi. She was named Alice Ruby Brazile. Ruby was the youngest child born to the Brazile household. She was educated and graduated from Harris High School, Meridian, Miss. She married the late James Robert Smith. To this union, two daughters were born: Diane Olivia and Jacqueline Yvonne. Mrs. Smith was a loving and devoted mother and wife. She united with the St. John Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member with a passion for the Missionary Society serving as leader of the Bingham-Brown Mission for many years. She remained devoted and supported, even after her health began to fail and she could no longer attend. She also held membership in The Jolly Pals Social Club and traveled extensively enjoying cruises and trips with friends and family. In the city of Meridian, Mrs. Smith was a well known, successful and respected business owner. She was the owner of several real estate properties, Brazile's Phillips 66 Service Station, Rob's Soul Shop, and Brazile's Cafe and Grocery Store leaving a great legacy of love and devotion. Mrs. Ruby Brazile Smith was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, grandson, Robert Prince Brown, several neices and nephews Also preceding her are her siblings: A.D., J.C., Victoria, Estella, Nathaniel, Monroe, Marsell, Luther, Ada, S.B and Dunk. Left to cherish her memories are daughters, Diane Smith Brown and Jacqueline Smith Hudson both of Meridian, Miss.; Grandchildren: Jametonth R. Smith, Yashica Y. Grant, Rodriquez P. Brown and Eric S. Brown. The Cole Family of Meridian, The Turner Family of Meridian, The Cole Family of Detroit, The Landrum Family of Meridian, The Griffin Family of Meridian & The Young Family of Birmingham, Alabama, The McHuley Family of Jackson. Also, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A host of neices and nephews. Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!
