Ms. Allie Jean Chandler's Obituary
On January 16, 1947, God blessed Willie and Lela Chandler with a daughter whom they named Allie Jean Chandler. She was one of fourteen children. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and she was a faithful member of Newell Chapel C.M.E. Church until her health failed. On September 20, 2013, she was called home. Jean graduated from Middleton Attendance Center in 1964, and continued her education at Jackson State College, and Temple University where she received a B. A. degree in 1969. Jean worked several years for FMC corporation, the Philadelphia Transit Authority, and an investment bank. In 1998 Jean moved to Toomsuba, Ms. to be near her mother. She retired from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation in 2009 .After retiring Jean enjoyed gardening, fishing, volunteering and making new friends. Jean leaves to cherish her memories four brothers, Vester L. Chandler (Washington D. C.); Roosevelt Chandler Sr. (Georgia) of (Bowling Green, OH); Robert L. Chandler Sr. (Marva) of ( Memphis, TN) ;and Charles E. Chandler Sr. (Cathy) of (Chicago, Ill.). Four sister, Sellerstene Walker (Suitland, MD.) Vemiece Burr (Chicago, Ill.); Willie P. Campbell (Decatur, GA.) and Evelyn Robinson (Wayne Middletown MD.) And a host of nieces; nephews; relatives and friends. Her parents , three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
