Mrs. Annie Mae Gibbs' Obituary
Annie Mae Gowdy was born June 12, 1936 in Porterville, Mississippi, to the late Nathaniel and Julia Gowdy.
Annie confessed Christ at an early age and united with Central Chapel P. B. Church. She later moved her membership to Starlight Temple Holiness Church in Eutaw, Alabama, where she served as Mother and Superintendent of Sunday School. After relocating to Mississippi, she united with Paradise Church of God and Christ.
Mother Annie united in Holy Matrimony to Willie Gibbs who preceded her in death.
She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend and prayer warrior.
She leaves a lifetime of memories to be cherished by two sisters, Dorothy Lavender of Tuscaloosa, AL and Gladys Jimison of Porterville, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Nathaniel Gowdy, Jr., Dave Gowdy, and Walter Gowdy, and five sisters, Ola Mae Hopson, Alice Hopson, Sally Eades, Mary Love and Eva Clay.
