Mrs. Annie R. McCann's Obituary
Annie Ruth (Strickland) Mccann was born to the late Bobby Strickland Sr. and Mildred Atterberry Strickland on August 18, 1944 in Quitman MS. She was raised by her step-mother, Victoria Allen of Citronelle, AL. Annie Ruth departed this life, July 15, 2019 at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian MS. She is proceeded in death by her husband, the late Frank Earl Mccann. One Daughter, Carolyn Strickland, One Great-Granddaughter, Brooklyn Watkins. Two brothers, Bobby Strickland Jr and Larry Granger. She worked at Burlington Industries in Stonewall, MS for 30 years. She then became a care giver to many children and the elderly. She devoted her life to taking care of the sick and elderly up until she became ill. She united with White Oak Church where she accepted the lord at a young age. She later became a member of Family Life Center where she was a devoted member up until her health failed. She was a sweet and caring person. Annie Ruth never met a stranger and was known by many near and far. Annie impacted the lives of many. She had a hand in raising many kids that were not her own. She was full of love and never turned her back or shut her door to anyone; up until the day she died, she was always trying to help or save someone else. She was super woman. She leaves to cherish: Two sons Tommy (Annette) Mccann-Quitman, MS and Reico (Mona) McCann-Butler, AL; One daughter-Michelle Roberts-Quitman, MS; Five granddaughters: Laquita Rankin-Enterprise, MS, Tomiqua (Dekenric) Triplett and Lastacia Watkins-Tuscaloosa, AL., Shancortne Mccann and Shankaya McCannQuitman, MS; Four Grandsons:Pierre Roberts, Tommy McCann Jr, Jaquaya McCannall of Quitman, MS and Corey Mccann-Butler, AL.; Five Great grands-Ryan Triplett, Bailey Triplett and Ryleigh Watkins-Tuscaloosa, AL., M'Laysia Mccann and M'kylia Keys-Quitman, MS.; One God daughter, Marla Mckenzie-Lawrenceville, GA, Two God sons Floyd Evans-Quitman, MS, Douglas Strickland-Pineywoods, MS; One God Granddaughter, Brandi (La1ordan) Harry-Ponchatoula, LA; One God Grandson William Davis-Laurel, MS; Nine brothers: John Strickland-Zion, IL, Marvin Strickland-William(Mary) Dyess-Roger (Bonnie) Strickland Sr.-all of Quitman, MS ,Wilbert(Mary) Granger-Aurora, CO, Emanuel(Blondia) Granger-Mt Vernon,AL, James Lee Allen-Mobile, AL,Josh(Skylar) Allen-Saraland, AL, Anthony(LeKell) AllenMobile, AL; Four sisters: Glenda (Willie) Hall -Quitman, MS, Juanita(Roland) Griffin, lea Bell-Saraland, AL, Reverend Francilla Allen-Birmingham, AL.
