Mrs. Annie Mae Powe's Obituary
Annie Mae Powe was a loving, spiritual woman. She was born on August 9, 1934 to the parentage of the late Dolan and Sutie Bell Greer in Kemper County, MS.
At an early age, she confessed her life to Christ and joined Fitkin’s Memorial Church of the Nazarene. As a faithful member, she served on the Usher Board, Mother Board, and was a Sunday school teacher.
“Mae Mae”, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren, loved to cook and grow flowers. She supported her family and friends in any way she could. She was all about honesty and integrity. She leaves not only superb memories, but also an immensely positive influence on so many lives.
On Thursday, October 21, 2021 our precious mother passed away peacefully and made her transition into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. Today, we celebrate this glorious woman, Mother Annie Mae Powe, also adoringly called: “momma”, “mother”, “grandmother”, “Annie Mae” and “Mae Mae”. She will truly be missed by family, friends, and all who knew her and witnessed her precious spirit. She was an exquisite jewel.
She leaves behind one son, Lavel Powe of Meridian, MS; and two daughters: Brenda Henderson (Terry) of Meridian, MS; and Theresa Walker (Eddie) of Pensacola, FL. Also left to cherish her memory: four brothers: James Greer and Donnie Greer of Milwaukee, WI; Allen Burrage (Mae) of Meridian, MS; and LG McDonald of St. Louis, MO; four sisters: Hannah White, Helen Dobson, Gladys Stoval, and Pearlie Greer, all of Milwaukee, WI; a devoted granddaughter, Danielle Donald of Meridian, MS; granddaughter LaToya Powe of Pensacola, FL; two grandsons: Marcus Powe (Deborah) of Meridian, MS; and Carlos Powe of Pensacola, FL; a devoted great-grandson: Jabrandon Cole; one aunt, Guyora Benamon of Dekalb, MS; a devoted friend and church member, Minister Annie Grace; and host of great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
