Mrs. Annie Ruth "Mrs. Ann" Spencer's Obituary
Annie Ruth Spencer was born July 22, 1954, to the late Marshall James and
Easter Mae Moss Spears in Toomsuba, MS.
Annie graduated from Meridian Community College with her associates
degree as an LPN. She retired from nursing after 40 years of service.
She worked for 20 years at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center, and the
remaining 20 years in nursing homes throughout Meridian including Queen
City, East Mississippi State Hospital, The Oaks, and Alliance. She loved
taking care of her patients and all people. She truly had a caring nature.
Her heart was so big, and she always liked to show love to people by giving
them something anytime they came to visit with her. She never let you leave her
house without something to take with you. Mrs. Ann lived her life doing what
she wanted to do. She shared so many fun memories with Darron, her soulmate.
Through the years you would see her and Darron out having a good
time. She loved taking pictures and having family get togethers. Mrs. Ann
loved ballons & dancing, especially with her grandchildren. She was known as
the life of the party because of the energy she brought to any room she graced.
When she cooked, she always cooked enough for an army to eat! She was a
glamorous model. She would model clothes tailored by Arthur Spencer for
charities and many organizations at the Frank Cochran Center and other
areas. She was always dressed to impress. She matched her outfits from head
to toe. When you saw her coming you would say, “that’s Mrs. Ann!”
She would be speeding around in her black beauty (mustang) or her black
trucks headed to shop or go to work. She was a workaholic. However, she
loved shopping when she wasn’t working. She would buy so many items at a
time, especially if it was on sale. Sometimes she had more new stuff at her
house than a department store.
Annie “Mrs. Ann” Spencer (69) departed this earthly life on Saturday,
December 30, 2023 with her daughters at her beside along with other family.
