Mr. Anthony James Beason-Phillips' Obituary
Anthony James Beason-Phillips was born May 22, 1959 in Meridian, MS to Annie Pearl Phillips and Oliver Flowers. at the age of two months, another family, Henry and Ethel Mae Phillips Beason & their daughters, were blessed to have the privilege to raise and love him.
Anthony attended Harris High School in Hickory, MS. Anthony confessed Christ at an early age. He was a member of the True Light Baptist Church in Chunky, MS under the leadership of the late Rev. James Croft. He was also baptized.
From 1988-1990, Anthony lived in Chicago with his sister Faye and her family. He enrolled in a continuing education program and received several awards. Anthony had a passion for cooking. He could cook a mean steak. His last place of employment was Applebee’s where he worked for over 16 years until his health failed.
Nothin in life was dearest to Anthony than his only son, Anthony James Beason Philips (AJ)
Preceded in death by his life’s love and partner, Annette Legier, his mothers and fathers and two sisters, Diane Wilson and Patricia Flowers.
The loved ones still remaining include son, Anthony “AJ” Phillips; Anthony and Kevin Legier whom he helped to rear from their youth, four grandchildren and four brothers: Larry Phillips (Mildred), Oliver Flowers, Jr. (Andrea), Thomas Phillips and Roderick Wiley (Yvonne); five sisters, Ethel Martin (Jack), Annie Carol Boose (JV), Calinda Nelson-Collins (Larry), Becky Nash (Anderson), Brenda Derricks (Michael); special niece, Kimberly Phillips; two uncles, two aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
