Mr. Archie Donald's Obituary
Bro. Archie Donald, the son of the Late Sylvester Donald, Sr. and Lillian Donald was born July 4, 1945, in Quitman, MS. He departed this life Sunday, July 12, 2015, at H.C. Watkins Memorial Hospital in Quitman, MS. Bro. Archie confessed Christ at an early age and became a devoted member of White Oak Springs Baptist Church of Quitman, MS, where he played an active role in the structural building of the church. Later in life, he and his brothers formed a gospel singing group known as the Mighty Kings of Volunaires and traveled all over singing the gospel. Bro. Archie graduated from Shirley Owens Vocational Center in Quitman, MS, in 1965. ln 1966, he enlisted in the United States Army from which he received an honorable discharge. After high school, he also entered into his first marriage. To this union, one child was born, Archie Donald Jr., who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by four brothers: Chester Russell, Rev. Sylvester Donald Jr., L.S. Donald. and Paul Donald Sr. On March 7, 1974, he married Shirley Ann Morgan and to this union one daughter was born. ln this union, he also gained two sons. ln 1981, Bro. Archie moved his family to New Orleans, lA, where he gained employment at Benson Automotive. He worked there diligently until 1999 when he moved back home to Quitman, MS. He then opened his own business and began enjoying spending time with his family: grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers. Also during this time, he rejoined White Oak Springs Baptist Church where he remained a devoted member until his death. Bro. Archie was a hardworking man and a loving provider for his family. He believed in showing love and generosity to those in need. His gentle and loving spirit will always be remembered and will remain in the hearts of those he loved. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Shirley Ann Donald, one daughter: Easter (Mark) Carter of New Orleans, LA; two sons: Carlos Morgan and Stanley Morgan of Mississippi; six sisters: Mary Lee Walley of Laurel, MS; Clara Donald of Quitman, MS; Rosie Dunlap of Stonewall, MS; Ella Ruth (1) Hubbard of Racine, Wl; Joe Ann (Andrew) Gray of Quitman, MS; and Carolyn (Tony Ray Sr.) Watts of Quitman, MS;.five brothers: Sammy (Lou) Donald of Quitman, MS; SV (Brenda) Donald of New Orleans, LA; Eddie (Alicia) Donald ofMuskegee, Ml; OC (Kim) Donald of Quitman, MS; and George (Pat) Donald of Heidelberg, MS. 16 grandchildren: Antonio C. Donald, Mark A Carter, Desman Williams, Kira Carter, Markeisha Donald, Martika M Carter, Shantese Q. Glasper, Stanley Morgan Jr., Nyla LA Jackson, Shantoria Jenkins, Carlyesha Morgan, Carlos C. MorganJr.,Jacarlo R. Morgan, Carlos C. Morgan III, Tacarlus L. Watts, and Carlyian M. Morgan; four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
