Mrs. Ardell Chester's Obituary
Ardell Mays Chester was born February 5, 1946 to the late Johnny Mays and Ora Bell Tillman Mays in Hazelhurst, Mississippi.
A wholesome family life molded Ardell for a definite purpose which brought her fulfillment throughout her childhood and gave her a loving and sincere spirit to do all she possible could to help others.
Ardell was a graduate of Englewood High School in Chicago, IL. Her collegiate years were sent at Kennedy King College where she received a degree in Elementary Education. For over 20 years, she was an educator, pouring into youth all of the values she had been taught. She also held the position as a certified insurance agent for the entire United States.
Ardell received many certificates, which included The National Federation of the Blind. But the most important certificate of all was her certificate of Baptism from St. Peter M. B. Church, Jackson, MS.
Ardell leaves a lifetime of memories to be cherished by her hus-band, Ulice Chester; stepson, Carl Chester, Jr., of Daleville, MS; stepdaughter, Marcia Chester of Chicago, IL; brother, Clifton Mays of Chicago, IL; sister, Yvonne Harris of Jackson, MS; brother in law, Rev. Peter L. Chester (Yvonne) of Daleville, MS; sister in law, Evangelist Fannie K. Johnson of Daleville, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
