Mr. Arthur Harden's Obituary
Arthur Harden was born on October 22, 193 7 to the union of the late, Teresa and James Harden Sr. of Dumas, Arkansas. Arthur was the youngest of nine children. He was a devoted husband, father, uncle, brother and friend. Arthur moved to Detroit, Michigan at the young age of fifteen. He became a member of Second Ebenezer Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. On Saturday, June 26th 1965, Arthur married the late Everleen Harden. Out of this blessed union came two wonderful daughters, LaShun and Kimberly. Arthur worked faithfully at Chrysler Motors in Michigan until his retirement. After retirement, Arthur moved to Bailey, Mississippi and later joined Greater Outreach Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Obediah Clemons. In his spare time Arthur enjoyed watching westerns, karate and basketball with his family. Arthur was a Master Mason and a skilled painter. He loved providing invaluable knowledge and life lessons to his family and friends. Arthur departed this life on Sunday July 24, 2022. He leaves to cherish his two beautiful daughters; LaShun Harden and Kimberly Ann Harden; bonus daughter, LaR.etha Nicole Gordon-Williams (Carl Williams); and bonus grandson, Carl "CJ" Williams Jr.; brothers and sisters in-law: Richard Gordon (Brenda), Luther Gordon (Patricia), Inez Gordon, Regina Gordon, Andre Gordon (Deloris), Walter Bernard Gordon (Tamara) and Gail Denise Gordon. Arthur also leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He will now join his departed siblings: Martha Berry, Lucille Nicholson, Magnolia Robinson, Willie Brantley, Luberta Canty, Robert Straughter, Johnny Harden and James Harden Jr.
