Mr. Ashley B. Brown's Obituary
Ashley Broyon Brown was born to Rudolph and Aldie Louise Brown on November 10, 1976 in Meridian, Mississippi. At an early age, he confessed a hope in Christ at Okatibbee Missionary Baptist Church. He was a dedicated member, serving on the Usher Board & Choir.
"Big Ash, or "Sport" as he was affectionately known, attended the Meridian Public School District and was a Meridian High School graduate of the Class of 1995.
Growing up, Ashley could always be found at his grandparents home on Valley Road. At the age of 16, his grandfather gifted him his first car, a green 1964 Chevy Nova. Ashley learned to drive by taking his younger cousin, Buddy, for a ride around the house on Saturday's, even letting him drive while both grandfathers sat on the porch watching them. Afterwards, his grandmother made them get the eggs out the chicken coup and pick figs from the tree beside the car porch. Ashley was always a protector, a gentle giant.
His favorite pastimes were creating mixtapes, playing video games, rebuilding old school Chevys and being the Down South Riders Car Club Guardian. His pride and joy was building a 1973 Impala with his father which went on to win many trophies at various car shows. Ashley also loved to collect shoes and jerseys and if you asked him nicely, he would bless you with something from his closet.
Ashley's "protective manor" led him to pursue a career at Queen City Nursing Home as a Security Officer where he was a loved and highly regarded employee for over 20 years.
Ashley made it a mission to text family every week just to check on them. The small things will definitely be missed from this gentle giant we all knew and loved.
Life is precious, time is invaluable and death is always untimely. That deep voice shall forever be missed but will always be remembered. Ashley left us with Revelation 21:4 on December 29, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolph Brown, paternal grandparents, Wilbert and Christine Dubose Brown, and maternal grandparents, John Henry and Essie Mae Gray.
Mourning his loss, yet cherishing his legacy and memory are his loving mother, Aldie Louise Brown; brothers, Stevie Gray, Winston (Lynn) Gray, and Mark Gray; his sister, Joyce (Anthony) Sneed; cousin/sister, Samantha Bur-rage; special friend, Joyce Rogers, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
