Mr. Aurthur Powe's Obituary
Arthur James Powe was born in DeKalb, MS on May 9, 1940 he confessed Christ at an early age at New Hope United Methodist Church and later joined St. Peter African Methodist Episcopal Church. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents- Guelda and Roger; siblings- Alice, Collin, Lavel, Margie Rae, Roy and William; his daughters- Renee and Sandra. Known for his work ethic, Arthur began working at age 8, on the family farm. During his adult years, he was employed in manufacturing, construction and steel industry. He was especially skilled in welding, but lawn work was his passion for over fifty years. He quickly became the go-to man for lawn repair. During his off days, Arthur spent quality time with his family and friends. His favorite pastime was hunting. Arthur was a simple, wise, and humble man. Through his love of talk, he quickly connected with whomever he met. He has made our lives more meaningful and we are truly blessed. He leaves to mourn a wife, Reatha; six daughters: Arletha Ndoume, Debbie Collins, Rhonda Powe, Wanda Greenwood, Marie Parker, and Vickie Ransom; six sons: Eric Powe, Frederick Powe, James Jerome Powe, James Russell Powe, Jeffery Powe, and McArthur Powe; and one sister: Emma Newell and a host of grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
