Mrs. Barbara A. Boyd's Obituary
Barbara was born on August 21, 1956 in Lauderdale County to the union of Aaron ·~ Lewis and Legertha Smith. She departed this life august 13, 2019 at Jeff Anderson Regional Hospital. She was a beautiful lady with a great big smile. She was educated in the Meridian Public Schools District. At a young age under Rev. Vaughn, she was baptized into East Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She loved the word. She was head of the cafeteria at Kroger Store and later worked at Oakland Heights Elementary School for many years. She was a dedicated church member and a great cake baker. Barbara always had a something to smile_ about and a very positive approach on life. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and grandparents. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: two faithful daughters, Aretha Boyd, Raven (Marcus) Willis, both of Meridian, MS; one son, Phillip (Kenya) Boyd of Nashville, TN; two brothers, Charles (Jeanette) Smith of Meridian, MS, Ely (Rochelle) Smith of Cleveland, MS; two sisters, Dorothy S. Grayson and ruby Smith both of Meridian, MS; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; two aunts, Dorothy Trussell and Mary Smith of Meridian, MS and host of loving cousins, friends and relatives.
