Mrs. Barbara Pruitt's Obituary
Sister Barbara Hayes Pruitt was born January 27, 1938 to the late Charlie and Earline Johnson Hayes in Lauderdale County Mississippi. She departed this life on Thursday, November 7, 2019. She was the youngest of nine sisters and three brothers. She attended Meridian Public School. She retired after working many years at East MS State Hospital. Sister Pruitt was united in marriage to the late James Pruitt, Sr. As a young adult, she was born into The Pentecostal Church of God, under the leadership of, Apostle W.J. Peterson. She faithfully served under the administration of Bishop J.J. Sears, Bishop Marcela Evins and Bishop Andrew Stephens. She served the Lord until she was called to Paradise to receive her glorified body. "No more suffering ... " Sister Pruitt leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Alexander Hayes Pruitt; two daughters, Linda D. William, Meridian, Brenda F. Green (Oswald Tekyi-Mensah); Montgomery, AL; eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
