Mrs. Beatrice Gill Bonner's Obituary
Beatrice Gill Bonner was born on April 15, 1915 to the late Mr. Hugh and Leller Richmond Gill in Walnut Grove, MS. Beatrice joined Truelight Missionary Baptist Church in Walnut Grove, MS at an early age. She later joined Cokes Chapel United Methodist Church in Vossburg, MS where she was a faithful member until her health failed. Beatrice was one of fifteen children, all of whom preceded her in death, nine sisters: Alfie Wallace, Alice Bounds, Lou Willie Benjamin, Thelma Davis, Elma Rose, Jeffie Lee Hicks, Gladys Williams, Nona Griffin, and Lee Ester Gill. Five brothers: Jessie J. Gill, John D. Gill, Cleo Gill, Eugene Gill, and Jimmy D. Gill. Beatrice Bonner was united in Holy Matrimony around 1938 to the late Willie B. Hamilton, and to this union three children were born; all of whom preceded her in death: Willie D. Hamilton, Elma J. Hamilton Lewis, and Louise J. Hamilton Livingston. Beatrice later married Frank Bonner in 1949 and to this union two children were born: Leller B. McCarty and Billy R. Bonner. For more than 70 long years she was a dedicated mother and grandmother, she took her role as a great nurturer very important. She was a true believer in family and she maintained a jovial personality while doing so! She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Leller B. McCarty of Walnut Grove, MS; one son, Billy R. (Filistine) Bonner of Shubuta, MS, and one step daughter Irene Bonner Crenshaw, of Desoto, MS. A host of 21 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and four special friends: Mamie Parker, Minnie Reese McCarty, Charity Gordon, and Loyce Collier.
