Mrs. Beatrice McMillian Brown's Obituary
Beatrice McMillian Brown was born on Tuesday, September 12, 1950 to J.C. & Clara King McMillian. Beatrice, Mrs. Bea as she was known, was called home on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Rush Foundation Hospital surrounded by her family. Beatrice, Mrs. Bea was preceded in death by both parents, her only son William "Kojack" Brown, four brothers J.C., J.W., Willie, and Ronnie McMillian, two sisters Sarah McMillian Hill & Ida White. She is survived by seven daughters Teresa (Devon), Shirley, Cynthia (John), Jennifer (Hester), Kimberly, Stacy (Markulis), & Renita (Michael) all of Meridian, MS. Four Adopted Children Michael, Tekisha, Latoya, & Marcus all of Meridian, MS. Four Sisters Della Gardner, Faye Griffin, Ida Harris, & Flora (Leo) Rogers. 2 Brothers Cephus (Shirley) & Jerry McMillian. A "Special Friend" Mr. Conrad Samuels. 13 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Beatrice worked for MS Action for Progress for nearly thirty years as a teacher. The community loved her loving personality and her wiliness to open her doors to anyone in need & most of all her kitchen to anyone hungry. She was a very soft-spoken person but did not mind telling you how she felt. She loved her church family of Bethel Baptist Church dearly & was a lifelong member until her death. This was a characteristic she passed down to her children and grandchildren.
