Mrs. Beatrice Moton's Obituary
Beatrice Moton was born in Meridian, Mississippi to the parentage mnk and Betty Pollard, both preceded her in death. She was the ond of nine children born to this union. Beatrice loved God first, at an early age she joined New Hope Blackwater Baptist Church. After adulthood, she united wilh New Life Independence Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Paul Clayton, where she served on the Music Ministry and Usher Board. Her school years were spent at Middleton Attendance Center. Beatrice was an avid walker. She loved walking around the city to different places. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Spinks Pollard; father: Frank Pollard, Sr.; sisters: Martha Boden, Gladys Brown, Sadie Farley, Dorothy Wooten and Frances Pollard Godfrey; brother: Curtis Pollard; uncles: Hervy Spinks, Tom Spinks and Malcolm (Joe) Spinks; and aunts: Geneva Hill and Gussie Clayton. Second to her love for God, was the love she had.for her.family. Beatrice was the proud mother of one daughter, Omekia Moton, and three sons, Tony Moton (Tina), Marshall Moton and Yokia Moton. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Tony Moton, Jr, Syeria Moton, Ny Creshia Ruffin, Javarius Jones, Charity Willis, Derion Scott, La 'Quisha Earl, Yokia Moton, Jr., Brendan Moton, Jessica Brown, LaPorshia Ruffin, Kamerion Hulin and Darrin Mitchell, Jr.; one sister, Shernia Pollard; one brother, Frank (Toni) Pollard; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever miss her.
