Mr. Bedelle McKenzie's Obituary
Mr. Bedelle McKenzie was born on May 6, 1944 to the late Dan and Hannah Bender McKenzie. Bedelle joined John the Baptist Missionary Baptist Church, Barnett, MS at an early age where he was a faithful member. He served as a deacon (in which he was ordained in 1983 by Rev. Lorenzo Carter), financial secretary and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a graduate of South Side High School, Heidelberg, MS. After graduation, he volunteered for the U S Air Force. After then, he was employed by Masonite until he moved to Chicago, IL where he worked at Republic Steel. Once he moved back to MS, he began work at Structural Steel, where he worked until retirement. After retirement, he drove the bus for Friends of Children of MS until his health began to fail. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Hannah, his sister Helen Grace, and a nephew(Randy). Bedelle leaves to cherish his memories his son, Darryl (Jackie) McKenzie of Richton Park, IL; 2 daughters Brittany (Kawan) James of Vossburg, MS and Jamie (Lashawn) Triplett of Meridian,MS; 5 grandchildren Davonte (Brittany), Jasmine, Jalen, Jaxen, and Jace; 3 great-grandchildren Sanaa, Brielle and Davonte, Jr.; 1 brother, Augustus (Betty) McKenzie; 1 sister, Lisa (Cedric) Hardy; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends that will miss him dearly.
