Mrs. Bernadette Harden's Obituary
Bernadette was born on August 3rd, 1946 to Algie and Bertha Mae Wilson in Bailey, MS. At an early age she joined St. Matthew Methodist Church and is now a member of Agape Storehouse Apostolic Church where she was a faithful member of the Mother’s Board.
At the age of 12 she started singing with her father Algie Wilson with the Silver Wing Gospel Singers. She also loved to sing in the church choir. One of her favorite songs was “I Am Redeemed.”
She attended school at St. Jospeh Catholic Church and Middletown Attendance Center. On August 5th, 1967 she was joined in holy matrimony to Thomas Wayne Harden and to this union four boys were born: Timothy, Darrell, Gregory, Cedric.
Bernadette loved to cook and to have family around especially on Sundays and special occasions. She loved for her house to be the main central location for relatives coming in from out of town. She loved shopping in Belk’s, singing the gospel, spoiling her grandchildren, driving fast, and working in the yard. Bernadette often bragged that she could run the lawn mower better than her husband, Thomas.
On Saturday, December 22nd, Bernadette entered her eternal life at her home in Bailey, MS. Preceding her in death were her parents, Algie and Bertha Mae Wilson, two sisters, Bettye Jean Wilson, Gwendolyn Morrison, and one brother, Jerry Wilson.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her memories, her husband of 51 years Thomas Wayne Harden, her sons Timothy (Sonya) Harden of Warren, OH, Darrell Harden, Gregory (Staci) Harden, Cedric (Cheri) Harden all of Bailey, MS, two brothers Marucs Wilson of Deactur, GA and Ken (Merle) Wilson of Woodbridge, VA, three sisters in law Rosie Wilson of Bailey, MS, Cyd (Joe) Powell of Stockbridge, GA and Nellie Harris of Maryland, and a brother in law, David Harden of Meridian, MS, and a second mother, Leerene Wilson “Big Nanny” of Bailey, MS, 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
