Mr. Bernie Lee (Jimmy) Gordon's Obituary
Bernie Lee (Jimmy) Gordon was born June 17, 1955 in Meridian, MS to the late Odell and Annie Pearl Gordon.
As a youth, Bernie attended Wechsler School in Meridian before relocating to Chicago, IL with his parents. He returned to Meridian to live as an adult.
Mr. Gordon was a quiet and humble man. He exemplified the spirit of a servant and steward. These qualities served him well as he pursed his career as a janitor and custodian. Mr. Gordon worked at Meridian Naval Air Station, Walmart on Highway 19N, 31st Missionary Baptist Church and Magnolia Middle School. He was a dedicated worker in every position he held.
As an adult, Bernie met Ms. Irene Moses and a son, Bernie Lee Moses, was born to this couple.
He also united with 31st Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member of the choir. He also worked as the church janitor. If he was needed anywhere in the church, he was there.
Along with his parents he was preceded by a brother Odell Gordon, Jr. in death.
Bernie Lee leaves to cherish his memories a son, Bernie Lee Moses; Two (2) brothers: Andre(Carla) Gordon of Chicago, IL and Lorenzo Gordon of Greenville, MS; Three (3) sister: Lisa Harold of Meridian, MS, Cynthia (Kendrick) Hall of Hollandale, MS and Delinda Gordon of Chicago, IL; Three (3) aunts: Annie Lee Wallace, Odie McCoy and Martha Bloxson all of Meridian, MS; a special cousin Carrie Gordon of Meridian, MS along with several nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
