Mrs. Betty Ann Ruffin Favors' Obituary
Betty Ann Ruffin Favors was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, she entered peacefully into the presence of the Lord. Betty Ann Ruffin Favors was bom on January 18, 1945, in Meridian, MS, to the late Edgar and Roginie Ruffin. She was the sixth of their seven children. She accepted Christ as her savior and united at an early age with Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where in her lifetime, she served on the Usher Board and with the Kitchen Ministry. She was known and loved around the Meridian Area by anyone who knew her. Over her life, she worked in a variety of places. .Although she spent years at Peavy Electronics, she was also known for her cooking ability. She cooked in various locations, most notably as a cook at the Trailways Bus Station, as a cook/waitress at the Waffle House, and as a member of the Cafeteria staff at Meridian High School. If you ever tasted her cooking, you were sure to return for more. Betty was blessed with three children, Edgar Ruffin, Zanette Powe, and Rogina Thomas. Her parents, Edgar and Roginie, her daughter, Rogina, and her siblings Dorothy Dobson, Ouida Altman, Greenberry Ruffin, Ulysses Ruffin, and D.Z. Ruffin all preceded her in death. Left to cherish her precious memories are her children Edgar Ruffin (Tonya) and Zanette Powe (Rodney), her brother, Robert Ruffin, eleven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
