Mr. Billy Ray Norris' Obituary
Billy Ray Norris was born in Meridian, Mississippi on February 22, 1950 to Danny Paul Knot and Ida Mae Norris-Ford, both preceding him in death. He attended public school in Meridian and joined First Union Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Porter. After High School, he joined Job Corps where he trained as a Carpenter and a Tile Setter. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following an honorable discharge, Billy moved to San Bernardino, California and worked as a carpenter at a local Tile Company and also at Loma Linda Veterans Hospital. He had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. He was creative and enjoyed drawing, painting and restoring household items. His favorite things to do were fishing , watching old television westerns and movies. He loved collard greens with okra, ham hocks and cornbread, any time of the day or night. On December 25, 2019 he departed this life after a brief illness. He will be cherished and remembered in the hearts of his two sons, Winston Whitney. Norris (Mitzy) of Orange, Texas and Drake Norris (Kadesha) of San Bernardino, California; two daughters, Ebony Norris of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Deausha Billberry of Colorado; Sister Belynda Cole (Willie) of Rialto, California; Brother Donald Ford .of Meridian; Uncle Herman Norris of Meridian; Aunt Earline Preister of Meridian; Uncle Larry Gowdy(Ann) of Louisville, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
