Mr. Bobby Hampton's Obituary
Bobby Gene "Bob" Hampton was born on June 25, 1961 in Meridian, Mississippi, to an adoring mother, Annie Jean Hampton and into the home of his beloved grandparents, Lige (Big Daddy) and Louise (Big Mama) Hampton. After graduating.from Meridian, High School in the Class of 1979, he went on to study for one year at Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi. He then transferred to Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1983. After graduation, Bob applied his managerial skills and tireless energy as manager of several Fast Food restaurants and as manager at Cub Foods. He went on to become owner and operator of an AVIS/BUDGET Car Rental Franchise in Duncanville, Texas for many years. Bob, as he was affectionately known, lived in several cities in Louisiana. He also lived in Memphis, Tennessee, Atlanta, Georgia, Meridian, Mississippi, Charlotte, North Carolina and Dallas, Texas. He thrived and prospered at every stop. He enjoyed sports at every level and participated in many different sports growing up. His favorite professional teams were the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Rams. He was also passionate about animals, cars and photography. Bobby Gene "Bob" Hampton passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 near his home in Duncanville, Texas. He is survived by his loving and special friend, Ms. Gloria Polk; his children: Wilfred J. Henry JaTwann Wentz, Bobbye D. Hampton, and Deion Edwards; his siblings: Gary Pruitt, J. D. Pruitt, Jr., Michael Pruitt, Debra Ann Pruitt and Mary Pruitt; and a host of relatives, friends and classmates who will miss him dearly. While his time with us was brief, his impact will last generations. May he rest in eternal peace.
