Mr. Bobby Ray Stanley's Obituary
Bobby Ray Stanley was born August 15, 1947 in Meridian, MS to Bob Stanley (B.J.) and Alberta Chapman Stanley.
Bobby Ray attended Central High School in Enterprise, MS. He later went to work at Burlington Industries, which was known as the Cotton Mill. He was also employed at Faye & Buddy’s and for Willie Robertson. He assisted them with whatever tasks they needed him to do. He later became employed with the Enterprise Consolidated School District, later known as Enterprise School District, as a bus driver.
Bobby Ray was an active member of First Enterprise Baptist Church until his health failed. Pastor Heidelburg would often comment "that no matter how late Bobby Ray was for church he always came in with his bible opened. " Bobby Ray was a member of the Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department and delivered lunches to the senior citizens of Enterprise and Stonewall. Everybody that knew him loved him. He will be greatly missed from his usual post: sitting under the shade tree, parked by Dollar General or the fire house. Sometimes he would be under the shade tree by himself and sometimes it would be so many people gathered with him you would think a party was going on. Bobby Ray loved all children. He always had stories to tell about his bus route while driving the bus. On Friday nights you could find him coloring with Layla or writing ABC's and 123 's. He was proceeded in death by his son: Bobby Deshawn King;, his mother: Alberta Stanley;, his father: Bob Stanley Jr;, his stepmother: Annie Bell Stanley;, and one brother: Thomas Micheal Stanley. He [eaves to cherish his precious memories 6 sisters: Lois (Robert) Lowery, Gloria Crawford, Joann Stanley Dawson, Deborah Stanley; Pamela (Jerry) Gordon, and Tiymeako Stanley; 4 brothers: Robert Lee Stanley, Kenneth Stanley, Dennis (Nicole) Stanley, and Edward Charles Stanley. 5 children he treated as his own Pierre (Crickett) Stanley, Blair Cook, Asia Cook, Tatiana Stanley, Layla and Leilani Cook. 1 Aunt: Leatha Steele New Orleans, LA and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Too many dear friends to list. You all know who you are and was deeply loved by Bobby Ray.
