Mrs. Bobbye Nell Riley's Obituary
Bobbye Nell Riley was born on January 28, 1932. She was the serond eldest of ten children born to the union of the late Miller and Eula Burwell. Bobbye Nell accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church. She married the late Odell Clifton Jordan to which five children were born from that union. After living and working in New York, Bobbye Nell returned to Mississippi, met and married her loving husband of 31 years, the late Joe Hayes Riley and of their union were born two children. Together they raised their family of children in Meridian, MS where Bobbye Nell retired from East Mississippi, State Hospital after 20 plus years of service as a Psychiatric Technician caring daily for troubled children. She graduated from TJ. Harris High School and she continued her studies at Meridian Junior College where she received an Associate of Arts degree. Bobbye Nell (lovingly known as Mama, Grand Bobbye, Grandmama, and Short) was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and grandmother. She enjoyed reading and loved rooking for her family, especially her brothers as they traveled back and forth to visit. Bobbye Nell departed this life during the early morning hours of April. 13, 2015. She was preceded in death by her father, Miller Carl Burwell; mother, Eula Lee Burwell; sister, Bettye Jo Burwell; brothers, Carl Burwelt Terry Burwell, and Larry Burwell; husband, Joe Hayes Riley and her daughter, Kathy Lynn Jordan. Bobbye Nell leaves to cherish her memory her loving daughters: Debra Ann (Sam) Brewer, Cassandra Gail (Robert) Loggins, Bettye Jo Jones, and Jennifer Riley-Collins; and her sons, Monty (Julie) Jordan and Marty (Jennifer) Jordan as well as her brothers; Charles (Francis) Burwell, Billy (Linda) Burwell, Donnie (Valerie) Burwell, David (Susan) and Anthony (Michelle) Burwell. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Stacee Naylor, Shanna Brewer, Robert "Beau" Loggins, Jordan Loggins, Ahjai. Jordan, Jarob Jordan, Jessica Jordan, Kayla Jones, Josiah Jones, Joseph Collins, Jonathan Collins and Joshua Sampson as well as six great-grandchildren. She was a member of Good Shepherd Ministries in Meridian, MS and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
