Mrs. Callie M. Smith's Obituary
Sister Callie M. Smith, 88, of Stateline, MS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2015. She was born May 4, 1927 in Stateline, MS.
She was a long time employee of friends of Children of MS. She was known as "Aunt Callie" by the students that she served at FCM. Sister Smith was a faithful member of The Pentecostal Church of God in Waynesboro, MS. She became a member of The Pentecostal Church in 1955, and has served as a pastor's wife for many years, as they worked faithfully at different churches throughout District #3.
The Lord used Sister Smith and her family as an example of the sacrifices we sometimes have to make to take care of the elderly and demonstrate the bond and love that a child has for his or her parents. This was best demonstrated in the form of her sons Bro. John Smith and Dec. Daniel Smith, who relentlessly took care of her until God called her home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Curt and Jenny Packer, and nine siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories: Dec. John Daniel Smith (late Earlene) of Stateline, MS and Bro. John V. Smith, Jr (Joyce) of Sacramento, CA; eight grand-children: Sharon, Lester, Valerie, Pamela, Cornelia, Shalon, Deavon and Neal; thirty-two great-grand, one brother-in-law, Dec. Cleo Woulard, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and a special niece, Vera Eakins
