Mr. Calvin Carl Kendricks' Obituary
CALVIN KENDRICKS was born November 26, 1958 in Meridian, Mississippi. He is the fourth son of the late Elizabeth Kendricks. He was called from his earthly journey Saturday, June 17, 2023. CALVIN confessed hope in Christ and united with Saint John Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. W. C. Griffin. He attended school in the East End, and while attending Poplar Springs school, he displayed his athletic ability and earned an award in the 440-yard relay in 1971. In 1977, after his mother's death, Calvin left Meridian and moved to Spotsylvania, Virginia where he continued his educational journey. After high school, he entered the U. S. Army. He loved serving his country. One of his many accomplishments was his expertise in handling the M-16. When his service in the military ended, he moved to Omaha, Nebraska to pursue other career opportunities. CALVIN was quite fond of outdoor activities. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and expressing himself as a grill master. He loved conversation. One of his favorite topics was good food, especially fish!! CALVIN was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Wilson Kendricks, and his siblings, Katie K. Manning, Willie J. Kendricks, Lois Kendricks, and Roosevelt Kendricks. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, TyKeisha Johnson and India Norfolk of Omaha, Nebraska; one sister, Lottie (Eddie) Naylor of North Carolina; two brothers, Robert (Diana) Kendricks of Meridian, Mississippi and Myers (Angela) Kendricks of Virginia, and a host of loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, many cousins and friends. Although there are many friends, Calvin shared a special friendship bond with Jerry Leggett, Glyniss Tanksley and Larry Cole.
