Mrs. Camille Hardy Clayton's Obituary
Camille Hardy Clayton, the daughter of Columbus Hardy, Sr. and the late Ola Mae Hardy, began
her life’s journey on August 5, 1970, in Meridian, MS. She was called to her heavenly home on
July 16, 2024, in Temple, GA.
Lovingly and widely known as “Millie,” Camille grew up in New Prospect Baptist Church
(Meridian). She graduated from Meridian High School in 1988. During her school days, Camille
ran track and played basketball.
After graduating from high school, Camille attended Meridian Community College. She then
worked as an Office Administrator at Weems Mental Health in Meridian and as an Office
Administrator and Home Health Care Professional in Temple, GA.
In 2005, Camille married her life partner and best friend, Roderick Clayton. In their 35 years of matrimony and loving relationship, Camille and Roderick were grounded in family.
Camille was a joyous, spirited gift to all. Her ability to light up a room was made even more powerful by her megawatt smile and sense of humor.
Camille leaves fond memories to be cherished by her: husband, Roderick Clayton (Temple, GA); mother-in-law, Catherine Hampton of Meridian, MS; children, David Cordae Campbell (Cheryl) of Mableton, GA, Cornelius Mosley of Meridian, MS, and Kabresha Ruffin (Scottie) of Meridian, MS; and grandchildren, Kaylee Capri Campbell, Brianna Ruffin, Deanna Ruffin, Reanna Ruffin, Scottie Ruffin, Jr., ShiBrianna Phillips, Memphis Houston, C’Niyah Mosley, and Million Mosley.
Camille’s memories also will be cherished by her: father, Columbus Hardy, Sr. of Meridian, MS; siblings, Cheryl Wright (Leonard) of Meridian, MS, Columbus Hardy, Jr. of Meridian, MS, Cynthia Hardy of Fayetteville, GA, Carl Hardy (Heather) of Lynwood, WA, Crystal Hardy of Memphis, TN, and Chris Spencer (Carina) of Gulfport, MS; Cheryl Poe Hardy of Meridian, MS; brothers-in-law, Michael Clayton (Sue) of Meridian, MS, and Franklin Clayton of Meridian, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Camille is predeceased by her: mother, Ola Mae Hardy; brother, James Richard Hardy; paternal
grandparents, Richard Hardy, Sr. and Joanna Clinton Hardy; and maternal grandparents,
Richard Mayberry Davis and Effie Nickson Davis.
