Ms. Carol Doby's Obituary
Carol Faye King Doby was born on April 19, 1957 to the late Bennie and Henrietta Blanks King in Meridian, MS. She departed this life on May 15, 2020 at Anderson Regional Medical Center, Meridian, MS. She was reared in the Fellowship Community of Enterprise, MS and later moved to Stonewall, MS, where she resided until her death.
Carol Faye graduated in 1975 from Enterprise High School, Enterprise, MS. While there she made history, becoming the school’s first African – American Homecoming Queen. After graduation, she attended the Prentiss Institute, Prentiss, Ms.
Carol Faye dedicated 25 years of service to Lakeside Health and Rehabilitation Center, Quitman, MS.
Carol Faye leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Shenika (Derrick) Jackson, Clinton, MS, Antonio (Rebecca) Doby, Summerfield, FL and Samantha “Sunshine” Doby, Houston, TX; her grandchildren, Christian Hunter Fagan, Jonas Doby, Derrick Jackson, II, Destiny Doby, Karlton Jackson, and Remi Faye Mixon; and her siblings, Joe Bennie (Doris) King, Kelvin “Boone” King, and Yolanda King Jones.
Carol Faye was proceeded in death by her husband, Samuel Karl Doby; her parents; her twin brother, Carl Ray King; her sister, Sandra Keyes; and her in-laws, Joe Lee and Odessa Doby.
Services are as follows:
Viewing is Friday, May 22,2020 6-7 at Berry and Gardner Funeral Home (305 W. Linda St, Quitman, MS).
Graveside Service is Saturday, May 23,2020 at 2:00 at New Fellowship M. B. Church Cemetery (5154 County Road 360, Enterprise, MS).
