Ms. Carolyn Jennel Bell's Obituary
Ms. Carolyn Jennel Bell beloved mother, sister and daughter was born on 27th day of September in 194 7 in Lauderdale county Meridian, Ms. to the late Mr. Leonard Bell and Mrs. Hazel Artens Blalock-Bell. Out of her parent's wedlock three children was born. Leonard Earl Bell, Layman Bell, and she was the youngest. Carolyn received her early education in the Meridian Public School and was a proud graduate from T.J. Harris class of 65. She continued her education and attended Alcorn State University, Meridian Community College, and Livingston Female Academy (UWA). Carolyn briefly moved to Chicago, IL and decided to move back to Meridian to be closer to family. Carolyn worked at various places such as: Howard Johnson, Gaylords, G.V. Sony Montgermy Naval Air Station. Carolyn finally was able to demonstrate her culinary passion when she landed into employment at: East End Head Start Center -now known as The Charles Young Early Development center (Mississippi Action for Progress) and worked at the center for over 25 years until her retirement. It was never a day that the-staff and children walked through those doors and affectionately called her Cambell. Carolyn's retirement allowed her to transition from her love of cooking to her love for traveling. Carolyn became an advent traveler always having her passport ready in hand never letting grass grow under her feet. She traveled from Las Vegas to New York to Dominican Republic to Amsterdam to visit. No matter the location, she enjoyed a cold Heineken beer made the correct way. Between her various travels, she would always visit her second home in North Carolina. The celebrity in Carolyn was on the Arsenio Hall show, attended The Talk, Oprah Winfrey Show and a variety of other shows during her many travels. Carolyn claimed God at an early age, being baptized at El Bethel Baptist Church. Carolyn later traveled a different path and converted to Catholicism. She would join St. Joseph Catholic Church and become an active member of the Servants of Mary. Carolyn's legacy lives on those she is survived by: Daughters, Artensley Jennel Bell of Sanford, NC and Tyeasha Justine' Bell-Lindsey of Meridian, MS, Son in love Tony Lindsey of Meridian, MS. Grandchildren, Harry La'-Kardia' Bell and Ty Sante' Hazel Belle Lindsey. Brother, Layman Bell (Charlotte) of Chicago, IL. Sister-n-law, Ruby Bell of Chicago, IL, Nieces, Dr. Greta A. Bell, Wanda Parker, and Rhonda Brent of Chicago, IL and Nephew, Bryon Bell of Chicago, IL. God child and Honorary God Children Patricia James, LaKesha Dubose-Williams, Tanya Williams, Chyna Jackson and God Grand Child Anyla Tynae' Adams. A host of cousins, friends, and love ones.
