Ms. Carrie L. Henderson's Obituary
Ms. Carrie Louise Henderson was born September 14, 1955, in Hinds County, Jackson, MS, to Charles Henderson and Johnnie Rhea Netherlands. Carrie departed this life on Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Rush Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi.
At an early age, Carrie professed her faith in Christ and joined New Prospect Baptist Church, Meridian, MS. She graduated from Meridian High School, Class of 1974. she was known for wing the first female announcer (DJ) at WQIC Radio in Meridian, MS, as well as with her modeling and being a childcare specialist.
Carrie had many nicknames such as Carrie, Carrie Lou, Lady C, Lou, Lady Heartbeat. Her most cherished nickname was from her one and only brother, and he called her Bubba. Carrie lived her life to the fullest. Her love for her family and friend gatherings brought so much joy to her. She had an eye for decorating and interior design. Her favorite past time was completing puzzles. She could complete a puzzle with a blink of an eye, then frame it for artwork. She was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, John Netherly , grandmother, Eula Mae Netherly-Perkins, parents Charles (Johnnie Rhea) Henderson; and loving sister, Eula Bennett.
Carrie leaves to cherish her memory: three children: Michael (Kisha) Henderson of Lawrenceville, GA; Marquise (Marcy) Henderson of Brandon, MS; Tiffany Henderson of Meridian, MS; one brother, Gerald Henderson of Meridian; eleven grandchildren: Raheem Collier, Kedur Henderson, Amunet Henderson, Khafri Henderson, X’Zavier Henderson, Gabrielle Henderson, Imhotep Henderson, Mason Henderson, Maddox Henderson, Anihya Simes, and Mariah Stewart; special friend of 40 years, Horace Hartwell of Meridian, MS; a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
