Mrs. Cassandra Hopson's Obituary
On Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., God called His beloved child, Cassandra, to depart this world and come to Him. Cassandra, a Christian, accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to Jessie Bean and Barbara Williams Bean. She attended grammar school in Chicago. Due to the failing health of her mother, they relocated to Meridian, Mississippi where she attended Meridian Public schools and graduated from Meridian High School in 1979 Always persistent and determined, she furthered her education by attending Meridian Community College where she earned a degree in Nursing as a Registered Nurse while assisting with the care of her ailing mother. She worked many years on the Cardiac Unit at Riley Memorial Hospital. Her smile and competent skills were appreciated by patients and supervisors alike. Cassandra always wanted to be a good wife and mother. She married her life partner, Larry, which created a devoted union until the day the Lord called her home. Cassandra talked about wanting many children early on; however, reality set in and she settled for being an excellent mother to three children, whom she loved unconditionally -Larry Jr., Jessica and Joe. They traveled many places together. Their travel included Las Vegas, the Bahamas and Orlando, Florida, just to name a few of the vacations they shared. She wanted her children to have great life experiences, fostering their sense of adventure and the unbreakable bond and love for family. Gifted with a great entrepreneur spirit, she acquired several rental properties and was co-founder and owner of the Twenty Nineth Avenue Manor. She took great pride in this accomplishment. For many years, she provided shelter and high quality care for the elderly, assuring they lived their last days in comfort. She has stood in the gap for many family members, whet!'ler it was father, aunts or nieces. Take your well-deserved rest, Cassandra, in the comfort of the Master's arms. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Bean and Barbara Bean Scott, a sister, DonJoeann Rucker and In-laws, Irene and R. C. Hopson. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Larry Hopson; two sons, Larry Jr. and Joseph Hopson; a beloved daughter, Jessica Hopson; Grandchildren -Kinsley Alysse Hopson and Tyler LaDarius Hopson; sisters -Debra Harrison (Tony) of Huntsville, AL, Annette Scott of New Jersey.Patricia Grant (Charles) Buffalo, New York; two brothers -Auvrey Bean (Margit) Long Beach, NJ and Theophilus Bean (Leslie) of Fayeville, GA and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and in laws.
