Mrs. Catherine Ware DuBose Cole's Obituary
The Lord is my light and salvation of whom shall I be afraid? The pains of death are past; labor and sorrow ceased, and life1s long warfare has closed. At last her soul has found peace. Catherine, "Cat", was born on November 6, 1928 in Lauderdale county, Meridian, MS to the late Willie Dubose and the late Iona Twilley. Catherine had one sister, Willie Mae Bates, and three brothers, Lee Arthur Dubose, Eugene Dubose, and James Ware who preceded her in death. She confessed Christ at an early age, and united with the New Prospect Baptist Church. She, also, attended Meridian Public Schools. Catherine was united in holy matrimony to George W. Cole, who preceded her in death, and to this union ten children were born. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family making sure everyone was happy and full. In her free time she loved reading her Bible. She greeted everyone with a warm smile and a hug which exemplified the love she had for those around her. left to cherish her memory are seven sons; George E. Cole, Jr. of Flint, Ml; Richard Cole, of Meridian, MS; John L. Cole of Anchorage, AS; Alfred Cole, of Atlanta, GA, Keith Cole, Douglas Cole (Betty), and Donald Cole (Evelyn) all of Meridian, MS; three daughters; Hazel Roston (Rev. Glover Roston) of Cleveland, OH; Docia Stafford of Elkridge, MD; and Adriane Cole of Meridian, MS; two brothers, George R. Dubose, Peru IN; Laverne Ware, Los Angeles, CA; three devoted cousins, Mae Frances Johnson, Dorothy Baskins, both of Meridian, MS; and Ree Bell Stringfellow of Los Angeles, CA; one sister in law, Legertha Hall of Meridian, MS; a devoted grandson Adrian Lamar Cole, and a very dedicated caregiver, Melba (Kisha) Brooks who went above and beyond the call of duty; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
