Mr. Charles McCarty Jr.'s Obituary
Charles McCarty was born March 15, 1948 to the late Charlie and Canella McCarty, in Shubuta, MS. He departed this life March 31, 2024, at Baptist Anderson Regional Hospital.
Early in life the family moved to Chicago, IL where he attended school met and married Patricia Smith. To this union three children were born.
Kimberly, Kelly, and Charlie.
Charles was employed with Kirkland's until closing. From there he worked at Swaco. After leaving Swaco he became maintenance man for many apartment complexes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Roger McCarty, four uncles: Roosevelt Brown, Ollie G. Brown, Preston Brown, and Lawrence C.
Brown, and five aunts: Argie Brown, Christine Walls, Fronie Allen, Marie Scott and Bertha Nell Pickens, two nephews; Brandon Gamblin, and Brian Forbes, two brothers in law; Kenrick Forbes and Carl Smith, Charles leaves to cherish his memories; his life long partner; Patricia McCarty, a daughter; Kimberly (Darius) Lavine, of Jackson, MS, two sons:
Kelly (Felicia) McCarty, of Madison, AL, and Charlie (Tre) McCarty, of Meridian, MS, a brother Johnny (Evandy) McCarty, of Chicago, IL, two sisters: Betty Forbes, and Sherrie (Jimmie) Gamblin, both of Shubuta, two sisters in law; Linda Libby and Cathy Smith both of Chicago, IL, two brothers in law; Julius Smith, of Marion, MS, and Willie Smith of Chicago, IL, four grandchildren, Eboni Felise, and Chase Alexander of Madison, AL, Chariana of Raleigh, NC and Alexander of Stonewall, MS. and a host of special nieces, special nephews, special cousins and special friends. Everyone was special to Charles.
