Charlie Clay, Sr. was born April 18, 1930 to the late Robert Clay and Everlena Clay. He left this earthly realm on December 5, 2018. Charlie Clay was one of nine children. He was born, raised, and lived a full life in Meridian, MS.
Charlie was married in 1953 to the late Ida Bell Clay. He was the father of seven children, 3 who proceeded him in death: 1 son, Charlie Clay, Jr., and 2 daughters Betty Irby and Retha Gail Clay. He leaves to his loving memories with his remaining children, Robert Lee Holiday (Anna Dove Holiday), Annie Pearl Carter, Shirley O’Neal, and Sharon Barret (Billy Ray Barret), Siblings who proceeded him in death and four brothers: Robert Clay, Jr., Eddie Clay, Willie Clay, and Henry Earl Clay Bradshaw. He leaves behind three beautiful sisters Gladys Blake, Pearlie Price, and Maggie Tubbs along with a host of close friends, a sister in law, Lula Moore, 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Charlie Clay was a loving and sharing person. Charlie Clay a devoted Christian and the back bone and head of his family.
