Mr. Charlie Lee Gowdy, Journey of life began January 9, 1945 in Meridian, MS to the late Sadie Mae Watson & Charlie Eugene Gowdy. Mr. Charlie was a hard-working man who retired from Mid-South Lumber as a welder.
Mr. Charlie loving, devoted father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Mr. Charlie enjoyed spending time with family, friends, he also enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, playing guitar’s, listening to Howlin Wolf, ZZ Hill, TJ Hooker, riding motorcycles with the Queen City Cruisers, and pettling around his yard.
Mr. Charlie leaves to cherish his loving memories: his 6 children Tommy, Billy, Vince, Aretha, Tyrone, and Tina Gowdy all from Des Moines, Iowa. Sisters: Dorothy Little from Meridian, MS, Ollie Gene (Johnny) Darden from Picayune, MS. Grandchildren: Michael Hardat, Quayvon Gowdy, Tyrell Erb, and Tiera Gowdy all of Des Moines, IA. Host of Great Grandchildren, Family, and Friends.
Mr. Charlie completed his journey November 15, 2018 in Meridian, MS. He was proceeded in death by his mother, Sadie Mae Watson, father, Charlie Eugene Gowdy, brothers, Leroy Gordon, Booker T. Lard Bey, Grandson’s Tyrae and Tremaine Barber.
