Mr. Chester Andrews Sr.'s Obituary
Chester Andrews, Sr. was born on October 1, 1946, to the parentage of McKinley Andrews, Sr. and Ada Barnhill Andrews at the Robersonville Clinic in Pactolus, North Carolina. He received all his education from the public schools. It was in 1964, Chester relocated from North Carolina to New Jersey. He was the first out of the 20 children. In his later life he moved to Mississippi. He worked at H.C.Watkins Memorial Hospital as an IOP driver for 21 years. He was a dedicated employee who enjoyed conversating with co-workers and patients. He arrived early and never complained of having a bad day. He often went over and beyond his job duties including staying late or coming in on his off days. Chester was joyfully married to Alice Altman on the 31st day of December, 2014. Alice was the love of his life, they enjoyed listening to music, going to dinner, and just sitting on the porch conversing and laughing. He just enjoyed life with her. Along with being a wonderful Husband Father and Grandfather, Chester also enjoyed and loved ministerin through music to the saints of God. He was called at an early age and assisted his mother who was the Pastor of Christian Chapel, in the ministry of music. He also was a member of New Brunswick All-stars gospel group. Chester played the guitar for the New Brunswick All Stars. He later joined the Christian Fellowship Church in Pachuta, MS; where he dedicated his life to God. He was preceded in death by his parents: Elder McKinley Andrews, Sr. and Pastor Ada Barnhill Andrews; two grandchildren: Alan and Alicia Scott; four sisters: Beatrice Person, Mattie Barnes, Mamie Little, and Rose Lee Andrews; eight brothers: Marvin, Laden Henry, Willie, Lenwood Collie, Calvin and Roosevelt Andrews. His Mother in law and Father in law Mr. John L. and Bessie Jones He leaves to cherish his memory; His loving wife, Mrs. Alice Andrews: two sons/two step sons, Chester Jr. Ozeem (Kim) Andrews, Tywa (Selena) Banks, Eric (Victoria) Banks; one daughter, Cindella (Anthony) Moore; thirteen grandchildren/ fifteen step grand children: Anayesha, Xavier; Jordan, Martrice, Antoine, Shakeem, Quran, Ania, Phillip Nelson, Felicia Nelson, Ashely Scott, Elain Scott and Anthony Moore, Aaron (Kentavia), Octavius, Erika, Tyanna, Tyllar (Xaviana), Quintonn Altman, Alliessha, Khatti, Sasha, Elisha, Miracle, Carmen Banks, Samara, Samarius Cooley and Ja'Marcus Pickens; eighteen great grandchildren/ three step great grandchildren: Qataza, Qunesha., Quran, Cheyenne Anderson, Jaden Nelson, Jaylen Nelson, Saniyah Mccutchen, Zhayne Nelson, Jasiah Nelson, Xariah Dallas, Ka'Mora Stodghill, Kentrell Stodghill, Kemon Scott, Kendell Cheatam, Kaiden Cheatam,Shree Scott, Kayala Scott,and Karnell Scott, Kayson Altman, Avah Donaldson ; five sisters: Mary Perkins, Elsie Thompson, Blonie Williams, Thelma Blackshear and Dimple Clark; two brothers: McKinley Andrews, Jr. and Pastor Lester Andrews; one daughter in law: Jada; five sister in laws: Barbara Andrews, Tinnie Andrews, Vanessa McDonald, Phyllis (Bryant) Napier, Helen Thornton; one brother in law: (Lavell) John L. (Darce) Jones. He has five special friends: Charles (Laura) Shephard Byron Pickens, Jerry Heidelberg, George (Charlene) Cooley Trinty Campbell, Cory Donaldson, and Micheal Harris; and a host of niece, nephews, family, and friends.
