Mr. Chester L. Irby's Obituary
Mr. Chester Irby was born on January 17, 1921, to the late Sam Irby and Floeta Walk Irby. he dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Throughout his life, he moved away, but always found his way back home to Meridian and his church. Chester met and married Hattie Mae Edwards and to this union, four children were born. Chester proudly served his country in the United States Army for a number of years. Following his time in the military, he and hi family moved to Sharon, Pennsylvania where he worked at Shortfield Steel until he retired. After retirement, he returned home, met, and married Jackie Crowell, who also preceded him in death, along with: his parents, Sam & Floeta Irby; one son, Ricky Irby; and one grandson, Demetrius Phillips
Mr. Irby leaves to cherish his memories: two sons: Gregory (Karen) Irby and Donald Wayne Irby; one daughter, Debra Ann Phillips; seven grandchildren: Samuel, Tommy, Isiah, Luke, Daniel, Aiash, and Samantha; and eight great-grandchildren all of Pennsylvania. He will also be greatly missed by a host of family and friends.
