Mr. Chester Earl Nelson's Obituary
Chester Earl Nelson was born October 23, 1958 in Meridian, MS. He was the third of five children born to the union of the late Josielean and Louis D. Nelson, Sr. Chester joined Pine Grove Baptist Church at an early age. He received his education from the Meridian Public Schools and the Lauderdale County Schools. He later joined the worliforce. His working career included 25 years at Broadmoor Home Center, 15 years at Lowe's, and most recently, Ace Hardware Store. He also did tractor work which included bush-hogging, dirt spreading, road grading, lot grading, and land clearing. Chester loved fishing, playing cards, and playing pool. He was a tournament pool player for Club 493 for over 25 years. He was loved by a lot of people and will be deeply missed On May 8, 2004, he united in holy matrimony with Susie Walk Nichols, Meridian, Mississippi. Chester departed this life on Thursday, July 23, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Josielean Nelson, his brother, Louis Nelson, Jr., and a sister, Glory Nelson Holliday. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Susie Walk Nelson, Meridian, MS; two sons, Derrick (Dawniecia) Trussell, San Antonio, TX and Santoria (Avelyn) Combs, Meridian, MS; one daughter, Lillie Danielle Trussell, Meridian, MS; two step-sons, Terrel (Sonyanikia) Nichols, Meridian, MS and Shawn (Myriam) Nichols, Montreal, QC; two sisters, Darlene (Samuel) Latiker, New Orleans, LA and Januana (Jimmy) Nelson, Meridian, MS, 11 grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
