Mr. Chris A. Naylor's Obituary
Mr. Chris A Naylor was the first born of 6 children, born to Mrs. Mary Jean Lewis on November 16, 1956 in Meridian, MS. His mom and his step-father, Earnest Lee Lewis, instilled in him a love for learning and studying the Bible, which he never parted from and would later relay to his children. At an early age, he received Christ and joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church. This teaching helped Chris to become a good steward of the Lord's word while serving as a father, husband, grandfather, brother, son, friend, caretaker, and neighbor. As a child, Mr. Naylor attended Meridian Public Schools and graduated from Meridian High School in 1975. He enlisted in the army following high school where he served for four years. Upon returning home, he enrolled at Meridian Community College. Shortly afterwards, he met his would be wife, Carol Naylor, with whom he developed an unbreakable bond. Chris took on a few jobs including being a fireman for 3 years at the Meridan Fire Dept. and later became employed at East Mississippi State Hospital where he was a DCW and later advanced to supervisor. He was known by many to be very compassionate and dedicated. Not only was he a great worker, Chris had many hobbies including: drawing arts & crafts, playing basketball & writing music. Mr. Naylor was also particularly fond of his family, showing much honor and adoration to his best friend and soulmate of 37 years, Carol Naylor, with whom he shared 5 children and 5 grandchildren who were all the apple of his eye. Be it in the presence of the family room or attending family gatherings, he loved being in the company of his family and gracing them with his jokes, his knowledge as welt as his wisdom he'd acquired over the years. He supported the spiritual growth of his family and continued to encourage them to stay in the word of God until his untimely passing. On Friday, April 29, 2016, Mr. Chris Anthony Naylor entered the doors of eternal life while in the comfort of his home. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Ruth Ann Naylor, his grandfather James Henry Naylor, his daughter, Jaquanna Naylor and his step-father, Earnest Lewis.
