God's Garden
God looked around his garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew that you were in pain.
He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough and the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered “Peace be thine.”
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone...
For part of us went with you...The day God called you home.
Psalms 23
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Tributes
To a Loving Son
Although our worlds are different now or is that just how it seems
For I see you when I close my eyes because you’re always in my dreams
I know you’re up in Heaven and looking down on me
And when I look up at the stars I know that’s where you’ll be
Even though I miss you, you’re not too far away
Because my heart is full of memories and I treasure them everyday
Our time on Earth was special but it’s only the very start
So please keep watching over me while we’re no so far apart
Someday the time will come when I no longer feel this pain
That is the day when Heaven calls and we will meet again
Love,
Mom and Dad
To My Husband
From the moment we met, I knew you was a handful. From one handshake and a n-sync
smile, you caught my heart. Through your eyes, heart, and soul, I saw so much love but so
much pain. Life pain was something we had in common. We started off as best friends
laughing at each other’s flaws but accepting each other. Who would have thought we
would become husband and wife? I promised God to love you no matter what we go
through even if ever we parted. So, as I held your hand and prayed to God to heal your
heart and put peace in your soul, I told you I would always be there when you needed me.
Forever in my heart. Rest peacefully in heaven with our son Jakarius.
Your Wife,
Tonia
Christopher,
Not only were you my brother, but you were also an all-around amazing person. Those
of us who knew you could write a series of novels about our wild and crazy adventures together.
You had a genuine heart, a carefree spirit, and shared your numerous gifts with the world. You
were a comedian, an artist, a craftsman, a chef, and most of all my protector. My brother, you
loved your family and friends immensely. Hopefully, the flowers I’ve given you during your short
time here have shown how much you were loved in return. Although I’m not prepared to let you
go and my heart is breaking, I am rejoicing! My brother is now a part of heaven’s beautiful bouquet.
So for now, I will replay our memories in my mind and heart until our next chapter together is
written.
Love always,
Your big sister,
Yashika “Shika” Slaughter

My Brother
Missing you always....
You never said I’m leaving. You never said goodbye.
You were gone before we knew it and till today only God knows why
A million times I’ve needed you, A million times I’ve cried
If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died
In life I loved you dearly, In death I loved you dearly, In death I love you still
In my heart I hold a place that only you can fill
I love you, Brother

Brother From Another Mother
In life you cross path with people. Some leave and some stay.
As long as we can remember, You were there every step of the way.
Growing up people always knew, One thing to be true.
Wherever they seen us, they were sure to see you.
Having you as a brother was nothing more than a blessing
We did everything from childhood to adulthood together without ever second guessing
Through good and bad times you were always there
So many memories especially laughs that we all can share
Your smile, dear brother, We’ll definitely miss
This journey without you won’t be an easy fix
How grateful we are to have shared life with you
Our dear brother from another mother, Chris, we will forever love and miss you
Love Always,
The Reed Family

For with God, nothing shall be impossible. Luke 1:37
If we as a family can put our trust in God,
we can and will get through anything while on the ride we call life.
You have to take the good with the bad. Smile when you are sad.
Love what you’ve got and remember what you had.
Always forgive, but never forget. Learn from your mistakes but never regret.
People do change. Things go wrong. Just remember, the ride goes on.
