Mr. Christopher Alexander Windham, Sr.'s Obituary
Christopher Alexander Windham, Sr. passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018. He was the only child born to Herman and Shirley (Hickman) Windham. He was born September 17, 1971 in Meridian, Mississippi. Christopher was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents; Jessie Windham and Minnie (Thames) Windham and Johnny Hickman and Catherine (Johnson) Hickman Granger Jones; Aunt Betty (Windham) Spinks and Uncles Henry Johnson and Robert Granger. Christopher accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He joined the Historic First Union Missionary Baptist Church, Meridian, Mississippi afterwards he was baptized there as well. Christopher was affectionately known as "Chris". He attended Lewis Adams Elementary School and graduated from Tuskegee Institute High School (now Booker T. Washington) in May 1989. Afterwards, he attended Alabama A&M University and Tuskegee University. For many years, he was employed with East Alabama Mental Health State Facilities, Opelika, Alabama. Chris enjoyed fishing and playing basketball.
Chris was a loving, giving, committed and devoted husband. On June 4, 1999, Chris married Felicia Ligon of Tuskegee, Alabama. To this union, two sons were born, Christopher A. Jr. and Brandon. Chris leaves to cherish his precious memories; wife Felicia; sons Christopher A., Jr. and Brandon N. Windham; parents; Dr. Herman and Mrs. Shirley Windham all of Tuskegee, Alabama. Sister-in-laws: Gwinetta (Cedric) Clark and Angela Ligon of Auburn, Alabama; Artrice (Reginald) Johnson, Dix Hill, New York; brother-in-law, Ellis Ligon, Tuskegee, Alabama. Uncles: Dennis (Gloria) Granger and Lavelle Granger, Meridian, Mississippi, Willie E. Windham, Union, Mississippi; Aunt: Patricia (Charlie) Brooks, Meridian, Mississippi; Great-Aunts Ruth (Oscar) Wilson, Helen Brooks, Willie M. Jordan, Doris Smith, Leola (Earnest) Merideth, Annie Cole, Helen Windham: Great-Uncles Edward (Vickie) Johnson and Eddie (Willie R.) Thames and a host of cousins, teachers, friends and classmates.
