Ms Clara Mae Shamberger's Obituary
Ms. Clara Shamberger was born in Meridian, MS to Annabell Sparrow and Bill Shamberger on December 11, 1944. She was lovingly raised and cared for by her grandparents, Clara and Johnny Moore. She dedicated her life to Christ at Tabernacle United Methodist Church at an early age.
Clara, affectionately called ''Mae-Mae" by her immediate family and friends, received her education in the Lauderdale County School System where she graduated from Middleton Attendance Center in 1968. Her hobbies included flower gardening and cooking. She was employed at Meywebb Hosiery Mill. She later retired from Hope Village for Children in Meridian, MS. Clara was actively involved in her church by serving on the finance committee and served willingly in any role that was needed at any time. On January 14, 2023 at Oschner Rush Health Hospital, she entered into eternal rest surrounded by family when she was called home by the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts Rosalee Brewster and Louise Tubbs and uncles Junior Sparrow and Eddie Sparrow.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Raquel Shamberger Davis (Paris), a grandson Pharis, an aunt Nellie Sparrow Loyd (Madear); sisters Mary Boston (Gabriel), Dorothy Gowdy (Otis); and a brother Herbert Sparrow; nieces: Sonja Sparrow, Courtney Boston Ruffin (Darrell), Melody Smith (Mike); grandchildren: Keece Sparrow (Teresa), Zena Sparrow, Ajah Boston Ruffin, Keyzia Sparrow, Keymorra Sparrow, A'Kia Sparrow, Cassie Sparrow, Alana Sparrow, Brooke Sparrow; "special baby", Haylee Sparrow; Kaylee Sparrow, Kaylon Sparrow, Braylon Sparrow, Tyrese, Maya, and Trey Smith; and a host of cousins, friends, and other special friends.
